General
What will the 2023 ANZCA ASM look like?

The ROC and the ASM events team are working to deliver an in-person meeting in Sydney. The meeting will be supported by virtual elements. Inclusions for the in-person and virtual delegate are outlined in the below program and workshop FAQ section 

What happens if we have a COVID lockdown?

Rest assured we continue to moderate the COVID situation with contingency  plans in place ready to execute if required.  

If the 2023 ANZCA ASM cannot run in-person what happens?

Regardless of the situation we have plans in place to deliver a meeting. Your registration will automatically be transferred to whatever is applicable at the time. 

Are there satellite meetings?

Yes. The Obstetric Anaesthesia Special Interest Group satellite meeting will be held from 3-4 May and the FPM Symposium will be held on 5 May. 

Both meetings will be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) and currently open for registration. Registrations for all meetings close on 30 June 2023.

When is the Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) and how do I find out more information?

The 2023 ELC will be held from 2-4 May in the picturesque Hunter Valley. voco Kirkton Park offers the perfect location to meet likeminded people, share your story, discuss ideas, and enhance your leadership capabilities. Applications for the 2023 ELC have now closed and successful applicants will be notified in early December.

Where is the 2023 ANZCA ASM being held?

The 2023 ANZCA ASM is being held at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) from 5-9 May 2023.

The 2023 ASM will offer a dynamic program for in-person attendees, and for those not yet ready or able to meet in-person, a virtual experience via the virtual event platform.

Registration
When is registration open?

Registration for the 2023 ANZCA ASM, Obstetric Anaesthesia Special Interest Group Satellite Meeting, and FPM Symposium is open now. Visit our registration page to register! 

When does early bird registration close?

Early bird registration closes on Friday 3 March 2023. 

Can I still register after the ASM has finished?

Yes, you can still purchase a registration until 30 June 2023. This will give you unrestricted access to watch any of the onDemand content until 30 June 2024. 

I live overseas, am I able to attend?

Yes, overseas attendees who can’t travel to Sydney will be able to register to attend the 2023 ANZCA ASM as a virtual attendee. Registration is open now. Access to the virtual event platform will be available until 30 June 2024. 

Registrations will be charged in Australian dollars and will include GST. 

Can I pay to attend just one session?

There are no ‘session only’ registration options available for the 2023 ANZCA ASM. We do however have two-day registrations and full registration options 

What do I do if I need to alter or cancel my registration?

All alterations and cancellations need to be received in writing to anzca2023@wsm.com.au and will be subject to the relevant registration cancellation terms and conditions. 

How do I book my accommodation?

The organising committee is delighted to offer delegates a variety of specially negotiated hotel and apartment accommodation choices that suit varying budgets. 

Accommodation can be booked at time of registration. Details for each hotel are available on our accommodation pageand booking information is available on your registration confirmation email, after you have registered.

When will the program be available to view?

The 2023 ASM program is now available to view on the website 

I’m an in-person delegate, what if I miss a live session?

Plenary and concurrent sessions will be recorded and will be available on the 2023 ANZCA ASM virtual event platform from 16 May 2023, one week post the ASM dates. You will then have access to the virtual event platform for 12 months.   

Who gets access to the OnAIR platform?

Access to the 2023 ANZCA ASM virtual event platform is included for in-person and virtual registrations. 

I’m a virtual delegate what do I get access to?

A live stream of the plenary sessions will be available to watch in real-time, and then the scientific program (excluding workshops) will be made available to watch as catch up for 12 months post the meeting on the virtual event platform. 

The recordings of the plenary and concurrent sessions will be available on the 2023 ANZCA ASM virtual event platform from 16 May 2023, one week post the ASM dates. There will not be a live stream of the concurrent sessions. 

Are the presentations being recorded?

Yes, they are. In-person and virtual delegates will have access to the recordings of the plenary and concurrent sessions. They will be available on the 2023 ANZCA ASM virtual event platform from 16 May 2023, one week post the ASM dates. 

Workshop Program

Coming to Sydney gives you access to an interesting and diverse range of workshops and small group discussions (SGDs). All designed to assist you in your training and development. Expect highly interactive practical skills sessions, combining hands-on learning and group discussions. There are a small number of online workshops available for the virtual delegate. All workshops must be attended in-person/real time to gain CPD points.  

Can I register for more than one workshop or SGD?

Yes. Delegates may register for more than one workshop or SGD. Workshops/SGDs have limited space and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. 

I’ve registered for an offsite workshop; how do I get there?

Please check when registering for offsite workshops what transport options are available. 

If offsite transfer options are available, shuttles will depart the ICC Sydney approximately 30 minutes prior to the start time for the workshop. Please take note of this when registering to avoid any clashes with other workshops. 

Can I make my own way to an offsite workshop?

Venue information for all offsite workshops is included in the program brochure. Delegates can make their own way to the venue, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the workshop.  

Will workshop facilitators contact me directly?

Facilitators may contact participants directly in the lead up to the meeting to provide background or preparatory material. 

I have registered for an emergency response workshop when will I receive pre-reading material?

It is anticipated that delegates will be provided with pre-reading material approximately two-weeks prior to the ASM. 

Are there any online workshops available to the virtual delegate?

There are a small number of online workshops available for the virtual delegate. These workshops will not be recorded and must be attended in real-time to receive CPD 

What if my preferred workshop and/or SGD is full?

If your workshop and/or SGD is full, you can select another and be waitlisted for your preferred workshop/SGD. You will be contacted if a place becomes available.  

Technology

What are the technology options available? 

Mobile app

The ASM mobile app, for the in-person delegate will be available before the meeting begins. It will include the program and speaker listings, exhibition floor plan, resource gallery and other must-have information while onsite at the meeting. 

Virtual event platform

The virtual event platform will be available for in-person and virtual delegates to live stream the plenary sessions in real time from your laptop or desktop. The recordings for the plenary and concurrent sessions will be available for all delegates to watch onDemand from 16 May 2023. All delegates will have access to this platform for 12 months post the meeting. 

All workshops and small group discussions, including the virtual offering must be attended in real time. These will not be recorded.  

CPD
How and when will by CPD points be allocated?

Attendance in CPD portfolio by June 2023. 

Participants of the ANZCA and FPM CPD program will automatically have their attendance auto populated to their CPD portfolio in June 2023. 

College Ceremony
When will the 2023 College Ceremony be held?

The 2023 College Ceremony will be held on Saturday 6 May from 6pm at the ICC Sydney. 

Who can attend and is there a cost?

The College Ceremony is inclusive for all registered delegates and their families, it is a family friendly event. 

Creche and family friendly
Will there be a creche at the 2023 ANZCA ASM?

Yes, a creche will be available across the main meeting days from 5-9 May.

Is there a parent’s room at the ICC Sydney?

ICC Sydney has accessible parenting rooms equipped with a feeding area, change table and food preparation area. Dedicated parenting rooms can be found in the following locations: Convention Centre: ground floor and level two, Exhibition Centre: level two.

If you require assistance locating a parenting room while at the venue, please visit any customer service desk or ask one of the ICC Sydney team members. 

Is there a dedicated ANZCA parents room available during the ANZCA ASM?

Yes, in addition to the two ICC Sydney accessible parenting rooms a dedicated ANZCA parents room will also be available across the main days of the ASM from Friday 5 May to Tuesday 9 May. The room will be open from 8.30am to 7.30pm. The room will close at 3pm on Tuesday 9 May.

The live stream from the ASM plenary sessions will be available to watch in this room.

The parents room will be located in the Business Suite 1.1 on Level One of the ICC Sydney Convention Centre.

If you require assistance locating the dedicated ANZCA parents room while at the venue, please visit the ANZCA registration desk or ask one of the ICC Sydney team members.

Is there space in rooms for pram parking?

Yes, a dedicated area at the rear of the Darling Harbour Theatre will be available for pram parking. Please enter the Darling Harbour from level 3, both entries at this level will have space reserved for prams.

All other rooms can accommodate parking for prams at the rear of the room.
