Professor Tess Cramond College Ceremony Oration
Professor Teresa (Tess) Cramond is recognised internationally for her contributions to the field of anaesthesia and pain management.
Professor Cramond was a pioneer for women in medicine, and her in chosen specialty of anaesthesia. She was also a proud Queenslander, who revolutionised the delivery of first aid nationwide when she implemented and taught basic airway training for Surf Life Saving Australia.
Throughout her career, Professor Cramond held many positions, including Dean of the Faculty and President of the AMA. She also received many accolades, including the Gilbert Brown Prize, and OBE and AO, an Advance Australia Award, a Red Cross Long Service Award and the AMA Women in Medicine Award.
