e’cco bistro

Acclaimed modern Australian dining destination in a stylish converted tea warehouse.

To much anticipation by Philip Johnson’s strong local following, e’cco bistro opened its doors in 1995, starting what has turned out to be a Brisbane landmark restaurant. Located in an historic building on the fringe of Brisbane’s central business district, the century-old former tea warehouse oozes with character and ambiance. Almost 20 years on, e’cco underwent a total refurbishment in October 2014, giving it a contemporary look, yet preserving the inviting, warm bistro feel that has stood the test of time.

Set in a heritage-listed medicine dispensary of 1862, the building now dispenses contemporary food and drink. The Apo aims to be a representation of the past and future. The 154-year-old brick walls speak of the history that contrasts with the modern materials and furniture. The 2016 Good Food Guide Queensland chef of the year Ben Williamson has created a menu that draws inspiration from Lebanese and French cuisine to create a unique shared dining experience.
