2026 ANZCA ASM Equity Grants
We’ve developed the ANZCA ASM Equity Grants as we recognise it’s important fellows have access to extensive and diverse continuing professional development (CPD) activities as part of your career. In addition to these CPD opportunities and supporting equity, inclusion and diversity we envisage that the grants will:
- Increase educational access and awareness among the college community.
- Develop and strengthen ANZCA’s engagement with the fellowship.
- Support attendance at the ASM for delegates who previously may have had difficulties attending.
- Support delegates from extremely remote locations where travel to the ASM requires extra leave and higher travel costs, if other funding is unavailable.
- Support essential caring duties that would otherwise incur significant costs.
How many grants are there and what can they be used for?
It is proposed that up to 4 x $NZ2500 grants be awarded in 2026.
Eligible grant expenditure items can include:
- Reasonable domestic and international travel in economy class (if cost of travel pertains to your equity application).
- The cost of an external carer registered with a professional organisation (the college is not liable for a childcare provider chosen by an applicant).
- The cost of childcare provided through a hotel (the college is not liable for a childcare provider chosen by an applicant).
- Registration for the ASM.
Ineligible expenditure items include:
- Expenditure incurred on past events.
- Cost of applying for the grant.
- Cost of travel insurance.
- Costs incurred prior to submission of your application.
- Gifts.
Who can apply for the ASM equity grants?
The grants are open to:
- Fully paid fellows (FANZCA and FFPMANZCA).
- Fellows who have not attended the ANZCA ASM for three consecutive years before the year of applications.
You can apply for the grant for three consecutive years before becoming ineligible.
How do I apply?
Please use the online form to apply. The grant application requires a written submission of 500 words.
Applicants need to:
- Outline the equity issue affecting their access to attend the ASM.
- Include information of relevant providers (such as childcare, respite, airlines, accommodation) and how the grant funding will be used. Invoices from such providers post ASM will be required for the grant payment to be made into the recipient’s nominated bank account.
- Provide proven barriers to attendance at an in-person ASM. Demonstrate the educational benefit to the applicant and their department/community by attending the ASM.
What are the timelines?
Applications open: Monday 12 January 2026.
Applications close: Monday 9 March 2026.
Review period: Tuesday 17 March-Monday 30 March 2026.
Successful applicants advised: Tuesday 31 March 2026.
How are the applications evaluated and when will I know if I’m successful?
Applications will be assessed by a panel consisting of the chair of the ASM and Events Planning Committee, the chair of the Gender Equity Sub-committee and the executive director, Fellowship Affairs.
Successful applications will be notified via email from Tuesday 31 March 2026 and be offered early bird registration for the 2026 ASM. Please see timelines section for further information.
When will the grants be paid?
Successful applicants will be required to submit a reimbursement form with supporting tax invoices post the 2026 ASM. Once received, the grant will be paid to a nominated bank account.
