The ANZCA Council and FPM Board met in February and after considering all possibilities and potential permutations, it has reluctantly been decided that the 2022 Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) will proceed as a virtual event. This will ensure that all delegates no matter their location, are able to still participate fully.
This is deeply disappointing for us all, particularly at this stage of the pandemic, but we believe adapting the three meetings to a virtual format is in the best interests of the safety of the public, fellows, specialist international medical graduates, trainees and college staff. You can read more here.
We have prepared some frequently asked questions (FAQs) for invited delegates to address any queries you may have. We also invited some of our 2021 ELC delegates to share their experiences attending the first virtual ELC. Read about their experiences here.
What is the Emerging Leaders Conference and how can I apply?
Are you an emerging leader in anaesthesia or pain medicine? Do you want to enhance your leadership within your workplace? Are you within five years* of fellowship? Then the ELC is for you!
Applications for the 2023 ELC will open late 2022. The college supports new fellows of anaesthesia and pain medicine in the development of a broad range of leadership skills such as communication, social and emotional intelligence and resilience through the Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC). The ELC brings together a diverse range of facilitators to present engaging and dynamic content over a three day period for new fellows to build on their skills and attributes as future leaders of the profession.
